Storage
There are basically 3 storage strategies

1) Store it at your house. This is the most common.

2) Rent a storage unit

A 10 x 10 x 10 storage unit in Reno will cost about $200/mo, which works out to about $2.40 per cu ft. After you figure the cost of renting a uhaul to haul it in each year, it comes to about $3 per cu ft.
3) Store it in a trailer that you bring in.
Some people buy a trailer or a stripped school bus and store their camp gear in there.
4) Store it in a delivered cargo container or trailer.
There are several options, but breaks down into a 53' wheeled trailer or 20/40' cargo container. In general, the further away you store it, more expensive it is. Reno is a good compromise, and it will cost you about $4K per year for storage and transport. If you store in Gerlach, the cost will be roughly half.

The container or the trailer itself can run $3-5K.

So for a 20' trailer in Reno, which is the most common, it is 1280 cu ft, which works out to a bit more than $3 per cu ft.

Here are some numbers to think about.
If you rent a storage unit in Reno and a uhaul truck every year, it will cost you about $2500 for a 10x10x10 unit and $750 for a 15' truck and gas. That works out to a bit over $3 per cu ft.
If you keep a 20' container in Reno and have it delivered every year, it costs about $4K, so also around $3 per cu ft.
If you store in Gerlach the costs are lower, but let's use Reno as an example.
This means:
A bike, with handlebar turned and pedals off, is about 20 cu ft = $60 per year to store. If you don't turn the handlebars and keep the pedals on, it take up 2-3X more space so about $100-$150 per year to store.
A full size yurt is 64 cu ft = about $200 per year to store
An 8' couch is about 72 cu ft = $200 per year to store
Water containers: each 1 gal storage container costs about 40-80 cents per year to store. So for example, a 275 gal IBC container that's a bit under 4x4x4 ft costs about $150-200 per year to store
